Kylie Jenner is definitely not the worst offender of using private jets!
Private jets are a luxury mostly reserved for the rich and famous, and while flying on a personal plane is completely enviable, it’s actually really harmful to the environment. After Kylie Jenner she was allegedly caught using her jet for a flight of just 17 minutes, other celebrities have been targeted for her own use of the private jet and the carbon emissions they are creating.
A study conducted by the digital marketing company Courtyard found the worst offenders by analyzing data captured by CelebrityJets, a social account that tracks private jet flights. Since the beginning of 2022, these celebrities have already amassed thousands of tons of CO2 emissions and it turns out that Kylie hasn’t even entered the Top 10!

1. Taylor Swift
Over the course of 2022, Taylor Swift accumulated over 8,293 tons of carbon emissions. This is due to his private jet’s 170 flights representing 22,923 flight minutes. His average time in the air was 80 minutes, although his shortest time was only 36 minutes. Taylor’s position as the leading celebrity carbon maker might come as a surprise, considering Taylor isn’t even on tour, but his rep says he’s dealing with other people using his jet.
“Taylor’s jet is regularly loaned to other people. It is patently incorrect to attribute most or all of these trips to her,” Taylor’s rep said in a statement.
2. Floyd Mayweather
Professional boxer Floyd Mayweather is credited with creating 7,076.8 tons of CO2 over the course of the 177 private jet flights he made this year, the highest number of flights among all celebrities on this list. Its private jet history also includes the shortest flight on this list, thanks to a trip to Las Vegas that lasted just 10 minutes.

3. Jay Z
Jay-Z flew high in a jet this year that emitted 6,981 tons of CO2 over 136 flights. His average time in the air was reportedly 67 minutes, although one of his shortest was a short 29-minute trip from North Carolina to Ohio.
Jay-Z’s rep then clarified that the jet believed to belong to the rapper is actually a plane of the company belonging to PUMA, of which he is the creative director. Although the jet displays Jay-Z’s initials in the tail numbers, the plane is not solely his to use.
4. Alessio Rodriguez
Former baseball star Alex Rodriguez has allegedly created 5,342.7 tons of carbon emissions so far this year on the 106 flights he has taken since January. He averages a flight time of 80 minutes each time he’s in the air, but one of his shortest flights comes in at just 34 minutes.

5. Blake Shelton
By January of this year, Blake Shelton would have flown 111 flights on his private jet, totaling 12,424 minutes in the air and 4,495 tons of carbon emissions. On average, he spent just over an hour aboard the plane, but at one point he took a 27-minute flight from Los Angeles to San Diego.
6. Steven Spielberg
Famed director Steven Spielberg is credited with making 75 trips on his private jet this year, though his average flight time tends to be higher than other celebrities on this list at one hour and 47 minutes. Since January he has created 4,465 tons of CO2 with one of those flights that contribute in just 18 minutes during a trip from Amsterdam to Rotterdam.
7. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian’s sister Kylie may be the one being targeted for her use of a private jet, but it’s actually Kim who is racking up the most carbon emissions. Since January, Yard says Kim has accumulated 4,268.5 tons of CO2 over the course of 57 flights. On average, she spent 85.49 minutes in the air while one of her shortest flights was a 23-minute trip from San Diego, California to Camarillo, California.

8. Mark Wahlberg
Over the course of 2022, Mark Wahlberg’s private jet contributed 3,772 tons of CO2 thanks to the 101 flights it carried out. However, Mark didn’t often take short flights, with an average flight time of nearly two hours. His shortest flight was a 29-minute trip from Van Nuys, California to Palm Springs, California.
9. Oprah Winfrey
The use of Oprah Winfrey’s private jet has totaled 3,493.17 tons of carbon emissions since it took off in early 2022. Over the course of the year, Oprah made 68 trips on her jet with a flying time. average of about 81 minutes. Her shortest journey came in just 16 minutes as she traveled from Brunswick, Georgia to Savannah, Georgia, emitting 1 ton of CO2 on that flight alone.
10. Travis Scott
It seems Kylie Jenner usually chooses to take boyfriend Travis Scott’s jet when traveling as the rapper has accumulated 3,033 tons of CO2 this year. Out of the 54 flights she has flown so far this year, her average flight time has been just 24.5 minutes.
